Summary: Plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance program designed to ensure food safety, regulatory compliance and product quality within the production environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure that the all employees are following guidelines set forth by company policies and procedures; including: HACCP, GMP's, SSOP's, BRC audit requirements and SOP's.
Test and inspect product, ingredients, and materials used at all stages of production for conformance to company standards.
Further development and deployment of quality systems.
Oversee the training of plant employees in accordance with the quality, sanitation and HACCP programs.
Coordinate with a third party sanitation company and federal inspectors.
Track and coordinate nonconformance issues within and between departments.
Prepare facility for GFSI certification
Train and mentor the Assistant Quality Control manager in development and implementation of policies and procedures.

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to interface well with all employees of the Company and to represent the Company in a highly professional manner. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Must be multi-task oriented.
Certificates and Licenses:
GFSI Certification – Preferably BRC
Animal Welfare Training – PAACO or training from a PACCO trained individual preferred
Manages multiple employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these applicable units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
