Business Banking Risk Analyst II
Provides analytical, operational and/or technical support for the Business Banking (BB) Risk Management department to monitor business unit adherence to BB Management Policy. Assists business line employees with completion of BB Management activities. Reviews and makes recommendations for process improvements, and provides assistance to other Risk Analysts within the department.
Perform a combination of routine and project oriented work associated with identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and communicating risks.
Interact with many different internal customers.
Create new processes or recommend changes to existing processes.
Basic ad hoc analytics and projects.
Independently create a work plan to meet a stated objective.
Establish individual work priorities and validate them with manager/supervisor.
Support some routine work within the department using pre-defined procedures and requiring attention to detail and accuracy.
Make recommendations for department or individual work changes that benefit the division (e.g. increase efficiency, controls or customer experience).
Identify and create new test scripts or procedures in support of department/division initiatives.
Actively develop relationships with outside partners.
Participant in peer coaching and projects requiring team-based solutions.
May use existing templates and data sets but also can modify those templates for new purposes.
Define your data needs for test or process.
Leverage excel software to perform basic analysis on data (pivot tables, filters, etc…)
May be asked to train and mentor BB Risk Analyst I and new BB Risk Analyst II peers or other employees in the division.
Participate in working groups to execute various implementation strategies or frameworks already decided on by management.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position works under the supervision of management, and has minimal latitude to exercise independent judgment. The incumbent will work within in specific guidelines, and will escalate out-of-guideline situations to management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Associate’s degree plus a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 3 years’ higher education and/or relevant work experience
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Data entry skills.
Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet and word processing software.
Proven verbal and written communication skills.
