A Registered Nurse (RN) who renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet patients’ physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs. The RN provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to meet the needs of Pediatric and adolescent patients needs based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure; coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships. .
Population Served: Pediatrics
Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served:
The Pediatric and adolescent patients population may also include care of
the post op,, patients with dehydration and Respiratory illnesses,
hyperbiliuremia and the neonate.
State of Alaska RN License
BLS and PALS Certification
q Less than high school
q High school or GED
þ 2 year/Associate Degree
q 4 year/Bachelor Degree
q Post Graduate Degree
þ Knowledge of State of Alaska law, Nurse Practice Act, Federal/CMS regulations and Joint Commission standards
þ Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools:
þ 1 years experience acute care work history preferred.
