Resident Care Supervisor
Location: Decatur, AL
The Resident Care Supervisor (RCS) is a unit staff member responsible for providing general supervision, competency reviews and training for all counselors/child care workers. This position assists the Unit Director in maintaining routine and order on the unit. Sequel of Courtland services adolescent males, ages 12-18 with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. The RCS may be asked to obtain Medication Assistance Certification (MAC), to include familiarization with the policies, procedures, and protocols pertaining to the Nurse Delegation Program, as disseminated by the Alabama Department of Health and Mental Health Retardation. The RCS will supervise up to 6 staff members by completing monthly coaching and evaluations as needed in a timely manner.
Education: High School Diploma or GED certificate required; Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Training or experience in child development issues.
Experience: One year direct care experience in an acute or residential treatment setting with demonstrated supervisory ability/skill – or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisor experience is preferred.
Schedule: The Second Shift RCS position will be scheduled to work 2 pm- 10 pm on preassigned days by the Unit Director.
