Engineering- Lab Technician III - Medtronic

2110 West Medtronic Way Tempe, AZ 85281

Contract: 24 month

Must Haves: 1. Detailed oriented; must be able to follow complex work instructions 2. Able to review electrical test data on a monitor and in Microsoft Excel 3. Ability to take work instruction with employees at all levels

Position Responsibilities: * Design and implement custom equipment/ tools, fixtures and/or off the shelf equipment/ tools, fixtures for highly capable manufacturing processes for new and existing products through frequent interaction with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering, and Production Operations. * Develop and/or assist in process development related documentation necessary to fulfill PDP, regulatory and Quality System requirements * Work with outside OEM Suppliers, internal/external machine shops and/or other departments/groups within the Medtronic Neurovascular * Develop and/or assist in coordinating builds required for product and process development including required work orders and procedures for training and directing operators and technicians performing the builds * Build prototypes and assist component engineer in developing test methods * Create and execute equipment qualifications i.e. IQ/OQ/PQ * Conduct design characterization and qualification studies, following documented plans * Generate test reports of activities, file and maintain results in organized fashion * Maintain detailed lab notebook, documenting the lab activities * Develop protocols and write reports, as necessary * Interpret and utilize schematics, logic diagrams, and operating manuals to support prototype medical device development. * Work closely with engineering technical staff to perform component characterizations and qualifications. * Provide feedback and recommend modifications to test systems to improve manufacturability or component's functional performance. * Contribute to moderately complex preliminary design and test concepts during component development. Work with engineers and support engineering decision process. * Work independently on established tasks, with minimal supervision. * Gather and analyze basic data, report results, identify problems and offer solutions to engineering staff members and coworkers.

Basic Qualifications: Education Required * Associates degree or 10+ yrs. of relevant experience

Years of Experience * 5+ years of Technician experience (preferably in medical devices) Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Minitab. * Experience in LabView programming, capable of maintaining current programs and perform Minitab programming changes as necessary. * Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel * Ability to prioritize/schedule activities in support of R&D, supply chain, and Operations activities * Skills with Shops tools (cnc,drill press, band saw, tap/die) * Machining tooling for fixture building, including soldering (Preferable) * Skills with Machine tooling for fixture building , when needed (Preferable) * Requirements - will work with lab & machine shop environment, working with small parts; able to life 50 lbs; must be able to operate a computer and telephone Desired/Preferred Qualifications: * Statistical knowledge and ability to work in Minitab * Program languages such as (g-code, C++, VB, Ladder Logic etc. preferred) * Prior experience in a regulated environment (medical, pharma, automotive, military, aerospace, etc.) * Prior experience in a customer service role * Basic knowledge of GDP/GMP/ISO regulations/requirements
