Shift: Full Time Tuesday-Saturday 4am-1pm

Job Responsibilities


As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing laboratory testing, analyzing, reviewing, and reporting test results and quality control results, as well as taking remedial action when indicated. You will ensure specimen integrity by following proper procedures for specimen handling and processing, as well as adhering to policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance, and safety. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operations of the laboratory to ensure quality and client service expectations are met. The Laboratory Manager will have 100 reports consisting of 6 supervisors.

Job Requirements


Successful candidates for the Laboratory Manager are preferred to be certified in the area of clinical laboratory science by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or the equivalent, but not required.


Additional requirements of the Laboratory Manager role include:



  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, or a chemical, biological, or physical science.

  • 5 years of experience in clinical laboratory leadership/supervisory preferred.

  • 5+ years experience as a Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist Generalist.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and direct work activities.

  • Experience with laboratory operations, testing and services, including setting up, reading and releasing test results and troubleshooting equipment.

  • Experience in a high volume environment managing work flows.

  • Process/operational improvement skills and ability.

  • Reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues.

  • Contact with clients will be required, good customer service skills are important.

  • In addition, interaction with purchasing and manufacturing or technical representatives may be required.

  • Independent and self-directed requiring minimal day to day supervision

  • Attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • CA License Eligible
