Job Title: Test Engineer

Location: Tarrytown, NY 10591

Duration: 12+ Months, potential convert to a permanent position

Schedule: Shift 1 (Am)



Description/Specific Requirements:


• The Test Engineer 2 is responsible for the software verification of the automation system connected to medical diagnostics instruments and be the upkeep of the automation laboratory.

• Key responsibilities of the position include all aspects of the software verification, adherence to company and regulatory procedures, software quality, collection, reporting of metrics and upkeep of instruments and automation laboratory.

• This position is located at a Client facility in Tarrytown, New York, that develops Client medical diagnostics instruments for use in hospitals and laboratories. May require travel to Flanders, NJ location on a frequent basis.



Key Responsibilities:


• Prepare software verification plans, verification reports, risk assessment, trace matrix and test cases in cooperation with peers on the software verification team.

• Execute test cases in the laboratory.

• Perform regression testing.

• Assure that software quality goals are met.

• Participate in and supporting product test process improvement initiatives.

• Keep track of laboratory inventory and ensure the inventory is replenished.

• Order lab supplies including consumables, reagents and instrument parts.

• Ensure instruments are replenished with consumables and reagents.

• Schedule in-house instrument repairs and maintenance when required.

• Support on-site laboratory audits and walkthroughs to ensure procedure compliance.

• Adhere to company and regulatory procedure.

• Schedule the lab resources when personnel need to utilize automation system or instruments.

• Ensure lab safety procedure is followed by engineers.

• Possess a high-level of self-motivation and ability to work on a team.

• Familiarity with medical diagnostics instruments or interfacing with automation systems/devices is highly desired.

• Laboratory maintenance experience is desirable.



Minimum Required Skills:

• Knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, etc.

• Experience using MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).

• Working knowledge and experience in DevTrack preferred.

• Typically 2-5 years’ experience in Software verification and installation.



Education:

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
