ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world's largest suppliers of branded office products with annual revenues of $2.1 billion (post-merger), is seeking a Finance Intern who would ultimately participate in our five year Finance Development Program beginning in 2013. For 2012, our interns will have the opportunity to work in any of the following areas:

  • US Accounting Group
  • Treasury
  • Data Warehouse
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Business Decision Support
In addition, all interns will be expected to study for and graduate as a Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt, enabling them to participate in cross-functional business improvement teams.

 

Interns will have the opportunity to job shadow and observe various members of the senior Finance leadership, including the CFO, to gain an appreciation of the different expectations and contributions delivered by our senior Finance leaders.

 

Real world professional business experience can set candidates apart when entering the job market. The ACCO Brands Finance Internship & Development Program will provide candidates with that experience. Finance Student Interns will be fully integrated into our day-to-day operations giving them a unique perspective to our culture and preparing them for participation in our new, tenured development program upon graduation.

 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Ten weeks summer internship duration
  • Interns will be expected to meet or exceed deadlines provided to them
  • Performance will be assessed during and at the conclusion of the summer assignment
  • Interns will be assigned to a team with the expectation that hard work and support will make their team successful
  • Interns will have direct exposure to senior management and opportunities to job shadow with the senior Finance leadership team in an effort to gain valuable experience
  • Will be trained as a Lean Six Sigma ('LSS') Yellow belt early during their internship, enabling them to participate as a Finance team member on a cross-functional LSS business improvement team

Job Requirements

  • Junior standing at a four year undergraduate university
  • Accounting majors preferred, but will also consider Finance, Business, and Economic majors with a minor/concentration in Accounting
  • Strong desire to join our five year Finance Development Program
  • Intend on sitting for the CPA
  • Enthusiasm and determination to succeed
