Job Description
Headway Corporate Resources has been entrusted to fill a Loss Mitigation Specialist position for our client, a leader in the insurance industry. This great opportunity is located in Buffalo, NY!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Review, identify and facilitate appropriate handling of loan level loss mitigation opportunities. Includes loan level review of insured loans on servicer’s system
•Analyze available information and events for decision-making purposes
•Negotiate default resolutions with the borrower in accordance with company guidelines
•Act as liaison for client’s loss mitigation team; recommend strategies, processes and/or procedural changes to improve loss mitigation results
•Manage implementation of agreed upon solutions or programs
•Facilitate the tracking of program results to measure its success
Requirements:
•College degree or equivalent work experience
•Minimum of 5 years front line experience with high LTV mortgage loss mitigation activities in a high-volume servicing environment.
•Working knowledge of collections, bankruptcy and foreclosure activities including Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and US Bankruptcy Codes.
•Working knowledge of workout programs including modifications, repayment plans, short sales, claim advances and deeds in lieu of foreclosure.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong negotiating and organizational abilities.
•Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks
•Ability to thrive in a high-intensity work environment
