Job Description

Advanced Personnel Resources is recruiting for qualified accounts payable professionals with 5+ years of experience. Our client is an industry leader located in Greensboro offering a competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package.


Job Functions:

  • Review invoices received from vendors, centers and corporate departments.
  • Verify purchase order has been approved and received.
  • Verify purchase order matches invoice.
  • Verify appropriate approvals for dollar amount.
  • Verify general account codes.
  • Review construction invoices for possible job codes.
  • Verify and post to the appropriate accounting period.
  • Research questionable or incomplete requests for payment.
  • Post invoices for payment ensuring duplicate invoices are not created.
  • Generate recurring payments and monitor closely to ensure terms of agreement are met.
  • Enter ACH and wire payments to third parties as “hand checks" in A/P system to ensure a complete vendor history. Sign off with “X" in ACH sign out form excel file.
  • Print "check preview" to verify totals and prepare for printing of checks.
  • Determine number of checks needed for run and first check number of sequence.
  • Request checks and signature cartridge from appropriate accounting staff.
  • Maintain check log to keep track of check numbers and ensure proper sequence.
  • Ensure checks are paid from correct account for correct amount.
  • Ensure proper signatures are present on all checks issued based on dollar amount of check and different approval levels.
  • At the end of each day that checks are run, complete the “positive pay" procedures with Bank of America.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable within a corporate office environment
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, v-lookup)
  • Must be very detail oriented with advanced math skills
  • Excellent research and analytical skills are required
  • Must have experience with a full cycle accounting process
  • Must have good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various managers in different departments
