Benefits Administrator - contract position

Our client, an international industry leader with headquarters in Greensboro NC, has an immediate opening for a Benefits Administrator.

Reporting to the VP of HR, the Benefits Administrator will:

1)    Plan and implement the organization's benefit strategy so the benefit outcomes meet current and future business needs and are consistent with the organization's desired internal and external market position.

2)    Design and implement the organization's benefit programs and activities so they meet the organization's objectives with regards to internal equity and external market competitiveness. These programs include: retirement, profit-sharing, thrift, group medical/surgical, disability and life plans. Additional areas of responsibility include Wellness oversight, FMLA and Short/Long Term disability management.

3)    Liaise with functional or operational area managers to develop and implement local benefit strategies that are appropriate for their business needs, but consistent with the organization's overall benefit strategy.

4)    Select and manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and suppliers (for example; benefits consultants, brokers, trustees, and necessary legal assistance) to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.

5)    Partner with HR business partners across the US to ensure that the organization's benefit strategy is implemented effectively and that the organization complies with all relevant regulations, laws and employment standards.



Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years extensive US benefits experience in a professional capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of laws and guidelines pertaining to employee benefits; familiarity with insurance terminology and claims processing.
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in personnel administration or related field is desirable.
  • Knowledge and expertise in HRIS systems (UltiPro, Peoplesoft, ADP, etc) and all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communications skills written and oral in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Detail-oriented, excellent documentation and follow-through skills.
  • The ability and initiative to work independently without direct supervision.
