Job Description



PURPOSE OF THEPOSITION


The position of Project Manager manages daily operationsincluding the plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projectto ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished withinprescribed time frame and budget parameters by performing the following dutiespersonally or through subordinate supervisors.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Work with Senior Project Managers and upper management to provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers, establish necessary resources required to staff and manage accounts, and provide daily supervision to assistant project managers.


  • Reviews or assists in reviewing project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project and available resources


  • Work with other employees to negotiate contract changes
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures as well as contract plans and specifications


  •  Prepares claims as needed


  • Coordinate or assist with coordination of project activities


  • Reviews status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required for review


  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
  • Responsible for and assisting with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation or the project: including safety, resources, performance, budget, scheduling, equipment management, quality, and risk analysis


  • Manages the process to ensure that documented commitments made in the developmental phases of a project are implemented at the proper time


  • Reviews and approves vendor pay estimates, material requests and invoices


  • Draft, review and approve works and purchase orders


  • Attends project status meetings and assists in problem solving efforts


  • Work with and be part of the estimating departments during project procurement phases



Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  •  Computer proficiency including Microsoft office and database software
  • Professional demeanor at all times
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high volume environment
  • Organized, detail and results oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make good decisions based on the best interests of the company
  • Ability to multi-task and handle numerous projects simultaneously

 

PREFERREDEDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

  • Project Management / Construction
  • Bachelors or Associates degree or the equivalent of training, education and experience
  • Sign industry experience
  •  Ability to understand margins and gross profits
  • Ability to read Blueprints and Construction Drawings.

  • Standing and walking.  Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks within the office.
  • Travel. Travel by automobile, airplane or train.
