Senior Accountant

Our client, an international leader in their industry, has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant in Greensboro NC.

 

Perform accounting functions requiring a thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principle.  Accountable for tax accounting and reporting functions.  Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements such as state sales tax, GSA, 1099 and 1042. Serve as the Concur System Administrator and user support.  Accountable for revenue recognition and invoicing of instrument and publication sales orders.  Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in meeting goals under established deadlines.  Partner with cross-functional teams.  Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on a variety of projects and activities including support of the annual audit. Assist with strategic and functional initiatives.


 


Job Requirements

    • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
    • Minimum 5 years accounting or related experience.
    • Advanced Microsoft suite skills. 
    • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply this knowledge in situations where procedures are not well defined. 
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists with minimal assistance. 
    • Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills for interaction with employees, financial institutions and clients. 
    • Ability to focus on details and perform functions with accuracy. Must have experience working with computerized accounting systems.
    • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.  Supports team environment through assisting and training co-workers to attain overall departmental goals.
