The Business Writer- Intermediate, under the direction of the Manager of Business Analytics, will be mainly responsible for the creation of business or executive reports; technical specifications, business cases, design mock-up visualizations, standard document templates, and other forms of project documentation.

The candidate would primarily focus to create and maintain high-quality user manuals, technical documents, business/technical processes and project management documentation. Function as a communications and information specialist, preparing material for publications and other documentation for internal and external purposes. They must be able to lay out and format documentation for the best flow of information, and maintain high standards of grammar and spelling.


•Develops and documents current business and technical processes, maps, workflows, policies, roles, responsibilities, costs, performance metrics

•Creates user manuals, metric definitions, and other documents for BI projects

•Support content development in other business areas as needed for project dashboards and SharePoint

•Determines project requirements by extracting them from business project sponsors, as well as from current and future users, through interaction and research.

•Design and document technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes

•Creates executive summaries for leadership presentations or report purposes

•Generate internal and client-facing documents that include design mockups of BI Dashboards

•Creates standard performance improvement operating procedures

•Write easy-to-understand user interface text, help and developer guides or user definitions

Job Requirements


•Design, modify, develop, and support development of high quality templates, reports and other written materials.

•Experience with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint

•Excellent English language, both written and verbal, including grammar, punctuation, spelling.

•Working knowledge of clinical processes and terminology

•Experience in understanding and translating the priorities of the business

•Have great interpersonal skills, a background in technical writing, and experience with technical documentation and formatting.

•Review technical design requirements and translate to business language

•Self-motivated, independent and goal-oriented, a fast learner with good communication skills.


•QlikView design and developer experience

•Experience in development, testing and implementation of reports and dashboards (QlikView or any BI report & dashboard tool)

•HTML Editor experience to create mock-up visualizations

•Working knowledge in different documentation tools 

•Explains technical processes in simple, clear, and concise language.

•Knowledgeable about current government healthcare initiatives 

•Manage multiple tasks / projects in a fast-paced, changing environment


•Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration, Technical Communications/Mass Communications, Management, Business Writing, English Literature, Fine Arts in Writing, Healthcare Informatics or similar fields

•3-5 years of experience in robust report writing, report development, and documentation of business processes or executive summaries. 

•Experience with document editing, structure and logic flow, as well as writing for non-technical audiences.


•3+ years of experience in development, testing and implementation of reports and dashboards (QlikView or any BI report & dashboard tool)

•Development and updating of the program documentation including operating Manual, Project Requirements, training, process and information documentation as well as other technical documentation as required.

•1-3 years of experience in technical writing in Healthcare IT
