We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Chief Medical Officer position that will be based at Florida Hospital Medical Group. This position is based in Orlando, FL.   
This position provides the opportunity to be responsible for improving clinical outcomes for internally tracked performance improvement data and publicly reported outcomes. The CMO has overall responsibility for performance improvement, risk management, continuing medical education, medical school affiliation(s) and residency programs. The CMO serves as chief quality officer and provides oversight to all medical directors. Establishes annual Quality plan and agenda for FHMG and related practices. Ensures effective performance improvement efforts will result in improved service for patients, medical staff members and lower cost.

  • Champion the deployment of CREATION health principles and models. 
  • Provide data to the medical staff to improve the clinical performance of the organization.
  • Utilize data produced from the performance improvement arena and implement practice/protocols that lower the likelihood of harm to patients.  Promotes a high reliability organization with a Just Culture. 
  • Formulate and implement plans that assist medical staff members in utilizing the electronic medical record.
  • Provide reports that will guide the quality committee to make informed recommendations to the groups operating council that establish and enhance clinical quality standards.
  • Lead the medical staff to be at or above the 90th percentile in publicly reported measures such as: CMS, Leapfrog, Solucient, Health Grades, etc.
  • Oversee the credentials of all newly recruited or acquired providers to ensure they meet FHMG standards. 
  • Oversee care models for FHMG practices and in particular to give guidance and develop protocols where appropriate for the use of lab, pharmacy, and diagnostic testing.
  • Attend and add value through participation at FHMG governance council meetings that include but are not limited to: Quality, Physician Compensation, IT/EMR and SOC.
  • Facilitate with senior management and members of medical staff activities that will lower the cost of implantation devices and other physician preference items.
  • Lead the FHMG in meeting all AHS patient safety goals.
  • Lead the FHMG in the continuing adoption of evidence based medicine by the medical staff and the protocols that come with evidence based model approach.
  • Involvement with senior management plans for business growth and service expansion.
  • A participant of the senior management team, provide counsel and relaying a physician perspective to all discussions and action plans related to service changes, improvements, new service offerings inclusive of all operational and strategy decisions.
  • Active participant in the efforts to recruit medical staff members that will support the mission, values, and purpose of Seventh-day Adventist healthcare
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum five years of experience as a CMO or Medical Director of Group Practice
  • Minimum seven years of experience as CMO in an integrated delivery system preferred
 Educational Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine. MD or DO required.
