GENERAL SUMMARY: The Clairvia Clinical Informatics Specialist for the AHS System (includes all Florida and Multi-state) is a resource for Clairvia Demand Manager, Patient Progress Manager, Assignment Manager and Acuity under the direct supervision of the Clinical Operations Manager. The Specialist leads and coordinates multidisciplinary build, design, configuration, testing and implementation of changes to the Clairvia Clinical Operating Systems. The Specialist is also involved with application support, preforming troubleshooting, and issue resolution within the IT system. Skilled at data collection and analysis of the quality of care delivered to patients. Assists with identifying and mitigating variability, fragmentation, and waste in overall clinical operations and processes. Ensures Clinical Practice integrates with acuity configurations. Documents real-time data points and operational processes to contribute to the design of an environment of high reliability and responsiveness for systems and resources supporting effective patient-centered care and flow. The Specialist communicates and collaborates with Leadership to ensure outstanding customer service and assists in the development of departmental goals and objectives in accordance with AHS Core Values and strategic priorities.

• Utilizes clinical and operations experience to design, build, implement and optimization of Demand Manager (DM), Patient Progress Manager (PPM), Assignment Manager (AM) and Acuity within the Clairvia product suite for AHS System all inpatient units. Utilizes knowledge of appropriate systems necessary to support the customer including applications, technology and business/operational practices. Utilizes knowledge of operational system functionality to ensure performance improvement and promote strategic alignment in resource utilization. Assesses business and user needs, benefits, functionality, feasibility, impact to workflow, and compliance to standards.

• Optimizes, maintains, and supports application/system as required. Provides on-call support. Conducts daily troubleshooting of user issues related to Clairvia Suite Informatics. Plans, tests, and supports application upgrades. Communicates internal notification to application end users for planned and unplanned downtime or incomplete functionality. Provides go-live support. Communicates application issues with vendor per vendor’s reporting process.

• Leads supervisors and employees in the daily operations of the Clairvia System including Staff Manager, Shift Alert, Demand, Patient Progress, Assignment and Acuity modules. Analyzes appropriate staffing levels, inpatient nursing department assignments, clinical length of stay on appropriate level of care, and patient acuity scores by utilizing Clairvia System tools and clinical experience. Mentors, develops and engages staff at all levels of the organization across AHS System.

• Coordinates real-time data points within the Clairvia System and all modules impacting clinical and non-clinical areas. Creates and provides engaging training for all staff that focuses on Leadership optimization of actionable knowledge for change. Produces training material and training for the utilization of organizational-wide function of staffing, nursing assignments, acuity scores, length of stay, budget and labor targets. Maintains a good working relationship with staff and hospital departments. Develops and executes change management strategy (communication, buy-in, training, technical support) to enable a smooth implementation of new IT application changes and enhancements.

• Responsible for managing accurate and timely implementation of project milestones. Participates in project teams to accomplish goals and objectives. Acts as a liaison between business users (including Corporate) and implementation team. Communicates appropriately and effectively with co-workers, customers and supervisors. Maintains awareness of project status and any potential delay, situation or concern that may affect the outcome of projects.

• Creates and implements an auditing process for maintenance of data from EMR for integrity and alignment. Designs, implements and audits changes to application in line with agreed SOPs and Work Instructions. Maintains departmental policies and procedures. Contributes to new policy and procedures. Assists with reviews of existing policies on an annual basis. Contributes to updates on all policies and standard operating procedures as needed.

• Responsible for technology advancement and adoption. Participates in internal and/or external training programs staying current and compliant on application or technical skills applicable to assigned duties. Ensures appropriate training completion prior to leadership access to program.

• Prepares statistical summaries on data maintained in Clairvia Management Systems and maintains a working knowledge of Employee Scheduling System. Interacts with frontline employees, leads, supervisors, managers, directors and VPs to teach and maximize program optimization in both clinical and non-clinical areas.

• Performs a wide range of duties as assigned or directed, to facilitate the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

• Knowledge of computers, Software development, Cerner EMR experience, and systems development lifecycle

• Knowledge of Nursing Process and Nursing Outcomes Classification.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word/Excel and Power Point.
• Knowledge of finance metrics for productivity.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
• Two years of experience in healthcare operations with an inpatient and/or clinical performance improvement focus
• Able to teach, train, and mentor end users in relation to technology with experience in developing training materials for users with various skill levels.
• Experience documenting workflow design and identify areas for improvement.
• Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues to resolution.
• Experience in millennium databases and interface pathways.
• Experience evaluating and analyzing EMR features and functionality for problem resolution

• Master’s degree in business or related field.
• Experience in Nursing Informatics and/ or Hospital Leadership strongly preferred

• Current valid Florida State Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
