We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Director of Quality position that will be based in our Physician Enterprise department. This position is based at our corporate office in Altamonte Springs, FL.  
This position provides the opportunity to plan and provide oversight of ambulatory quality assessments and performance improvement to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.  This role supports the Adventist Health System strategies for primary and specialty care for ensuring organizational compliance with participating ambulatory program requirements. This role will be responsible for providing expertise and oversight of CMS ambulatory programs as well as recognition programs which impact our ambulatory stakeholders. The Director of Ambulatory Quality works as a liaison between the regional practice Executives, Physician Enterprise Executives, AHS Ambulatory information technology team, and regional resources as they work towards creating local Ambulatory Quality Committees and Programs.
Specific job duties include:
  • Leads the development and execution of plans for the creation of a robust quality infrastructure to promote on-going quality/performance improvements in the ambulatory locations.
  • Leads the identification, and development of key ambulatory quality and utilization measures to support the ambulatory specialties. This includes monitoring performance and opportunities in various payer programs (Medicare, Medicaid and commercial).
  •  Evaluates the relationship of quality outcomes, utilization and, patient experience to identify opportunities to enhance performance.
  • Assists in the development of an overall strategy for developing quality and patient experience dashboards to ensure that information can be shared to the key care team members in a transparent manner which allows for continuous quality improvement.
  • Identification of a quality measurement and reporting solutions working with Health Information Technology for ambulatory and with the PE managed care team. Work to improve quality management including on-going development of key quality measures to enhance performance.  
  • Works with external organizations in which we collaborate to identify and monitor quality metrics, goals and thresholds across the ambulatory enterprise.
  • Work to support Clinic Leadership in quality and performance improvement activities to drive accountability and continuous performance improvement in the ambulatory settings. 
  •  Works directly with the payers on shared savings programs/performance based incentive programs.  Informs clinic leadership and/or medical directors of performance in order to maximize opportunities for incentive payments. Monitors and provides feedback on performance in those programs.
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience
  • Minimum 2 years of performance improvement/process optimization experience
  • Minimum 2 years of physician practice operations experience
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Registered Nurse license required
  • Completion of one professional certification within three years and maintenance of certification thereafter if applicable, e.g. CPHIMS, CMPE, Lean/Six Sigma Certified Green or Black Belt
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Familiarity with physician practice transformation in the multi-specialty setting, supported by project management and quality improvement principles
  • Knowledge in Healthcare Operations, Information Technology, Revenue Cycle, Practice Operations, Clinical Operations, Nursing Work Flow, Physician Work Flow, Medical Information
  • Proficiency in identifying, defining, analyzing, and displaying metrics and goals
  • Process improvement methodologies experience
  • Quality program development and management experience
  • Familiarity with national quality measurement programs  ( PQRS, QRUR’s , MACRA, MIPS)
