The HRIS Intermediate Analyst will support the Talent Management project within Adventist Health System’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) initiative, iSynergy. Within this project, the Analyst will support efforts to automate and integrate talent management processes with Oracle HCM Cloud (Fusion) including performance management, compensation administration, and succession management.  The incumbent will possess general knowledge of HR operations and processes. The Analyst works under the direction of the iSynergy HR Manager/Senior Manager and is responsible for completing HRIS related activities including but not limited to; system configuration, data conversion, functional specifications, program and system quality testing, go-live and post go-live implementation support.


The incumbent is responsible for supporting the integrity, effectiveness and efficiency of services related to HRIS.  The HRIS Analyst may be assigned cases needing resolution within the HR Help Desk, as well as, perform testing in partnership with the Deployment, IT and Security teams. The Analyst is expected to take the initiative to prioritize and manage work while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.


Specific job duties include:
  •  Support HR application(s) to optimize system effectiveness while improving existing HR/PR business processes, productivity, efficiency and quality maximizing the value to AHS.
  • Acquire, maintain and increase knowledge of AHS HR/PR business processes and practice requirements, including; applications, technology, policies, procedures and applicable HR/PR laws to anticipate and define application design needs.
  • Willingly contribute and share ideas, system knowledge and understanding of core HR/PR business processes to increase team/project effectiveness and establish positive working relationships throughout the project.
  • Support HRIS objectives and iSynergy team member efforts to facilitate cross-functional integration.
  • Work with technical/functional teams & consultants to ensure solutions related to identified gaps are completed on time, leading to successful implementations.
  • Be willing to explore & accept creative solutions; be prepared to alter business “as is” to “business as may need to be” for future system optimization.
  • Complete documentation during project and development phases as assigned or needed in current tracking application or document (JIRA, Deployment Tracker, RTM, etc.).
  • May be scheduled to work “on-call” shifts.
  • Provide information to Training team needed for the development of end-user training materials.
  • Act as resource/liaison to facility management, HRSS and end-users during implementations.
  • Use independent judgement to report and log system and/or implementation issues for resolution.
  • Document/provide input on post implementation lessons learned.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision, paying significant attention to detail and responding to issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Prepare and execute test scenarios; conduct test runs, take corrective measures during testing phases, document issues, and retest applied “fixes” after remediation.
  • Assist in identifying and documenting required functional specifications needed for interfaces, enhancements and conversions.
  • Train and orient Analyst on required tasks and project expectations.
  • Participate in IT sessions for functional and technical specification development
  • Support all Talent management/Compensation processes, applications and interfaces used by AHS, including conversion, configuration, testing, enhancements, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Develop functional specification documents for new Oracle HCM Cloud Talent Management development.
  • Design, develop and maintain functional specifications for new customizations to Goal Management, Performance Management, Career Development, Talent review, Succession planning and Compensation modules in HCM cloud
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining Goal Management, Performance Management, Career Development, Talent review, Succession planning and Compensation modules in HCM cloud
  • Serve as a talent management/compensation liaison with Shared Services and other third parties, as needed
  • Responsible for efficient support, research, and resolution of talent management related cases in HelpDesk for HR
  • Maintain data integrity in system by running queries to validate interfaces, talent management processes and talent data
  • Maintain processes, systems, procedures, logs, and materials to support all talent management program administration
  • Work as assigned with IT on break/fix issues
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail, quality work, and customer service
  • Responsible for tracking, testing, and implementation of changes to talent management forms, processes, applications, and interfaces
  • Working knowledge of talent management processes including performance management, goal setting, succession management, merit and performance-based compensation

Job Requirements

Experience Requirements:   
  • 2-4 years experience required related to HR/Payroll, preferably in Healthcare
  • Business Analyst experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR application support (HR Systems, Time and Attendance Systems, or Reporting and Analytics) or equivalent experience.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required (or equivalent job related experience may be considered, if enrolled and on course to complete Bachelor’s degree).
  • HRIP Certification preferred
  • CCP, PMP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or Six Sigma Certification a plus
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • PC/Laptop
  • Basic system/application/data troubleshooting
  • Critical thinking and root cause analysis process
  • Advance Microsoft Office Skills, particularly in Excel
  • Strong Verbal and Writing skills
  • Analytical skill
  • Specialized HRIS skills which includes application configuration and system support, troubleshooting, and report/query running. 
  • Previous project/process design or improvement analysis skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR systems/operations in Healthcare setting preferred
  • Prefer knowledge/skills in any combination of the following:
    • Oracle PeopleSoft (or other related ERP)
    • HCM Cloud Talent Management and Compensation
    • Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
