We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Procurement Agent II position that will be based in our Supply Chain Shared Services department.  This position is based in Altamonte Springs, FL.

The Supply Chain Procurement Agent II prepares and processes all required documentation pertaining to the purchase of goods and services using PeopleSoft and other computer based systems. Confirms, validates, expedites, and modifies orders and works with Requestors and vendors to ensure orders are accurate and complete. Assists with the resolution of issues that impact the timely ordering of goods and services. Researches purchase requests from the field to identify correct products and contracts related to those products. Ensures orders are accurate and resolves exceptions in a timely manner. This position is both accountable to Supply Chain Shared Services as well as field operations.

 

Specific job duties include:

  • Responsible for procuring non-routine/standardized goods and services
  • Prepares and processes all required documentation pertaining to the purchase of goods and services using PeopleSoft and other computer-based systems
  • Places and verifies orders with vendors by telephone, Fax, EDI, and other computer systems
  • Maintains and builds relationships with vendors, Requestors, and other users of the PeopleSoft system              
  • Ensures orders are placed with correct vendors and methods of shipment and terms of payment are documented correctly
  • Initiates backorder resolution and facilitates the expediting of approved product substitutes for customers;  Ensures timely and accurate communication to impacted field Requestors
  • Modifies purchase orders as necessary based on basic research and direction of management in prescribed methods; Ensures all information is documented in the PeopleSoft system; Manages the appropriate communication with field Requestors
  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding service, products, and account information using established procedures
  • Assists with the resolution of discrepancies or problems that prohibit timely ordering of goods and services; Resolves match exception errors
  • Identifies repetitive problems and works with Supply Chain Procurement Manager on corresponding process improvements
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Works with contract managers to maintain an accurate knowledge of contracted vendors
  • Manages returns to vendors
  • Resolves match exceptions with vendors in a timely manner and coordinates efforts with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments

 

Job Requirements

Experience Requirements:   
  • Minimum of four years of experience in purchasing required
  • Product knowledge for specific service line area (i.e., OR, Surgery, Cath Lab, ER, etc.) required
  • Experience in the healthcare industry required
  • Experience in a supply chain shared services organization strongly preferred
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or college required or seven years of related field experience required
Software Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) strongly preferred
  • Ability to navigate computerized data entry system and other relevant applicants
  • Proficiency in PeopleSoft strongly preferred
  • Ability to type fifty or more words per minute with excellent spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral and written communications
