We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Planning Research Manager position that will be based in our Strategic Planning and Research department. This position is based in Altamonte Springs, FL.

This position has the opportunity to be responsible for providing analytics, reporting, and data integrity in support of the Planning and Research department.  The Manager provides analytic tasks, creates effective strategies to collect data, analyze information, conduct research, and implement analytic solutions.   The role will retrieve and interpret data from both internal and external healthcare databases.  This individual must be a skilled communicator and have the ability to interact, manage, and instruct research analysts in the department.  

Specific job duties include:
 
  • Performs market analyses for Adventist Health System through the use of market and state databases, to include market schedules for annual budget process as well as ad hoc market analysis and reporting
  • Extracts, verifies, complies, analyzes, and formats data from other healthcare industry databases and other sources for planning, decision making, evaluation and accountability purposes.  Creates forecasting models for market share, volumes, key business trends, etc.
  • Supports Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Research in the due diligence process related to potential acquisitions or divestitures
  • Develop analytical approaches to answer business questions
  • Provide end user reports with quality information and caveats, including actionable information
  • Assists in the due diligence and valuation processes for acquisitions, mergers or divestitures
  • Performs planning research and analysis for corporate or facility planning initiatives
  • Performs reconciliations and quality assurance of Finance data through the use of analytical and audit procedures to ensure system data integrity
  • Maintains the internal HPM and external databases (i.e. Truven, AHCA, etc.).  Acquires and retrieves data as necessary, provides for timely updates and assists in design and ease of use of the data for the end user
  • Write and prepare narrative and statistical reports of research findings and program updates including indicator reports; prepare charts, graphs, and tables of research findings using spreadsheet / presentation software
  • Provide support and coaching on research and analytical techniques to others in the organization
  • Trains research analysts.  Provides direction to research analysts on a regular basis; including but not limited to new request interpretation; data-issue reconciliation.  Assists research analyst in prioritizing workloads.  Reviews research analyst output prior to it leaving the department
  • Assembles data for and in conjunction with yearly corporate strategic planning process
  • Monitors service line volumes and goals and maintain and continues to develop service line definitions 

Job Requirements

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Marketing Analysis and Database Management
  • Demonstrated supervisor experience and ability to manage a team
