We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Regional Corporate Responsibility Officer position.This position is based in Orlando, FL and reports to the Vice President for Corporate Responsibility for Adventist Health System. 
This position has the opportunity to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the corporate responsibility function for the hospital facilities of Adventist Health System (AHS) located within the greater Orlando market.  Job responsibilities include oversight of health care related regulatory compliance, privacy concerns, coordination of the contract review process, implementation of corporate responsibility monitoring and auditing activities for the various facilities within the region as well as risk assessment identification and mitigation for the Region.   The responsibilities require travel within the greater Orlando area to each of the hospital facilities as well as periodic visits to the AHS corporate office for training and meetings.
Specific job duties include:
  • Provide oversight for the regional Corporate Responsibility department and its members.
  • Communicate and provide training and education on policies regarding regulatory compliance to ensure consistency across the region.
  • Develop and support corporate responsibility and code of conduct education, including new employee orientation, corporate responsibility training and facility leadership training.
  • Provide response to corporate responsibility hotline calls.
  • Coordinate corporate responsibility activities and investigations for the region.
  • Respond to phone and email inquiries on a variety of corporate responsibility issues.
  • Answer specific questions from facility staff and leadership concerning corporate responsibility policies, patient privacy (HIPAA) issues, physician contracting, and other general regulatory corporate responsibility topics.
  • Facilitate monitoring and auditing activity for  the hospitals within the region.
  • Coordinate any external audits in conjunction with AHS Corporate Responsibility as necessary.
  • Work on identification of the unique compliance risks to the Region and develop plans for mitigation
  • Coordinate the submission of monitoring and auditing documentation to confirm compliance with elements of the monitoring and auditing plan.
  • Work with and serve as chairperson for the Regional Corporate Responsibility Steering Committee.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Corporate Responsibility department and corporate offices.
  • Present to regional facility boards of directors on corporate responsibility education and activities.
  • Attend local leadership meetings within the region.
  • Provide oversight of privacy and security.
  • Provide oversight to other Corporate Responsibility staff
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with policies, rules and procedures of the department, including those set out in the Employee Handbook or otherwise communicated verbally or in writing.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of five years healthcare regulatory or financial experience at a management level.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other healthcare related field.
  • Healthcare compliance certification required or obtained within first year.

Attributes:

  • Ability to understand the healthcare regulatory environment, including Stark, Anti-Kickback and HIPAA.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate (verbally and written) with senior leadership and all other levels of personnel throughout the organization.
  • Exhibit proven organizational skills in compliance related activities.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel to travel to facilities within the region.
