We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Regional Corporate Responsibility Officer position that will be based in our Corporate Responsibility department. This position is based in our Long Term Care Division, in Orlando, FL.

This position has the opportunity to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the corporate responsibility function for the regional entities of Adventist Health System (AHS).  Job responsibilities include oversight of health care related regulatory compliance, privacy, coordination of the contract review process, implementation of compliance monitoring and auditing activities for the various business lines within the region as well as risk assessment identification and mitigation for the Region.   The responsibilities require periodic visits to AHS for training.

Specific job duties include:
  • Communicate and provide training and education on policies regarding regulatory compliance to ensure consistency across the region.
  • Develop and support compliance and code of conduct education, including new employee orientation, compliance training and facility leadership training.
  • Provide response to compliance hotline calls.
  • Coordinate compliance activities and investigations for the region.
  • Respond to phone and email inquiries on a variety of compliance issues.
  • Answer specific questions from facility staff and leadership concerning compliance policies, patient privacy (HIPAA) issues, physician contracting, and other general regulatory compliance topics.
  • Coordinate and manage the contract management system specific to physician contracting for the Region.
  • Facilitate monitoring and auditing activity for the various business lines in the region, including, acute care, home health, hospice, long-term care, durable medical equipment, infusion, and physician practices.
  • Coordinate any external audits in conjunction with AHS Corporate Responsibility as necessary.
  • Work on identification of the unique compliance risks to the Region and develop plans for  mitigation
  • Coordinate the submission of monitoring and auditing documentation to confirm compliance with elements of the plan.
  • Present to regional facility boards of directors on compliance education and activities.
  • Attend local leadership meetings within the region.
  • Provide oversight of Compliance Associates.
  • Provide oversight of privacy and security.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of five years healthcare regulatory or financial experience at a management level.

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other healthcare related field.
  • Healthcare compliance certification required or obtained within first year.
  • Licensure not required.
  • Specific experience in long term care compliance, coding and/or operations

  • Knowledge of the culture and working environment in Adventist Health System.
  • Ability to understand the healthcare regulatory environment.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate (verbally and written) with senior leadership and all other levels of personnel throughout the organization.
  • Proven organizational skills in compliance related activities.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel to each of the facilities on a regular basis.
