GENERAL SUMMARY: The Senior Purchasing and Controls Specialist is responsible for processing all purchasing requests in a timely manner and according to service level agreements, providing purchasing guidance and oversight and acting as a point of escalation and purchasing expert. Mentors and trains team members. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides purchasing guidance and oversight, leading purchasing team. Manages escalations (internal/external) for team. Assigns tickets to team members. Provides training and guidance to team members on day-to-day activities. Performs processing of purchasing requests and ordering of inventory. Enters customer requisition in system. Enters internal MIS cabling and repairs invoices as requisitions in system. Processes inventory ordering (ordering from multiple vendors). Processes equipment for new IT projects. Processes phone stipend/reimbursement. Handles inter-department transfers (IT and phones). Purchases/orders mobile phones/WiFi for approved situations. Maintains purchasing websites. Coordinates with materials management to set up master product codes. Maintains standards for IT and phone equipment.

Researches product choices for possible cost savings. Routinely reviews the current product list, including part numbers and pricing, to ensure the correct item is ordered and all information is entered in the designated tracking system. Routinely meets with vendors to remain knowledgeably informed of new and updated products. Works closely with vendors to ensure the correct products are being ordered at the correct price.

Works closely with customers to make recommendations for software and/or hardware selection. Works closely with users to set up new vendors. Works with the Project Managers to make recommendations on product choice and to meet their deadlines. Provides accurate pre-purchase technical analysis on PC-related hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Generates necessary product and price quotation with accurate pricing. Ensures returned goods are handled in a prompt, thorough manner.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of personal computers, hardware, software, mobile phones, and computing tablets Knowledge of purchase flow from creation of a requisition to receipt of product

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting, or Finance or related field, OR equivalent experience Experience mentoring and training team members
