We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Statistician position that will be based in our Population Health Services Organization department. This position is based in Orlando, FL.
This position has the opportunity to be responsible for reducing overall healthcare costs and utilization for specific populations.  The Senior Statistician produces models predicting healthcare utilization patterns, impacts of quality improvement on cost and utilization, assessing chronic disease screening and intervention outcomes, and other statistical analyses toward improving the care of a population while reducing costs and improving quality.  Responsible for collecting study parameters, designing the analyses, and reporting out on the analyses (in writing, verbally in meetings, etc.). The Senior Statistician actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Specific job duties include:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of statistics including inferential statistics, multivariate regression, advanced modeling, predictive analytics, graphical display, missing data analysis
  • Ability to use advanced analytic and statistical methodology
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate (verbally and in writing) with all levels of personnel (i.e. colleagues, physicians, leadership)
  • Understanding of relational databases such as MS Access and SQL Server
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office application:  Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
 
Education Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or related field, required.
 
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of seven years of experience as a statistician (can be part of degree-associated training), required.   
  • Experience with computer-based statistical software packages such as SPSS, SAS, R, etc.
