We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an Item Master Specialist position that will be based in our Supply Chain Support Services department.  This position is based in Altamonte Springs, FL.


The Supply Chain Item Master Specialist is accountable for the development, delivery, and management of item master data for the PeopleSoft procurement and supply chain management systems. Enters and maintains item data and assigns items to suppliers using PeopleSoft and other computer-based systems to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. Responsible for data accuracy and adherence to data policies and procedures. Ensures proper units of measures are applied. Manages activities and processes related to item master data management in the PeopleSoft application, which includes monitoring and ensuring data quality standards are met.


Specific job duties include:
  • Develops and refines supplier categories
  • Re-aligns items and commodities into categories
  • Updates item categories, groups, and families
  • Develops and refines data integrity rules
  • Discontinues items
  • Defines vendor items for procurement contracts
  • Understands contracts to ensure items are contract compliant whenever appropriate
  • Establishes item vendor unit of measure (UOM) pricing
  • Enters and maintains data accurately to ensure proper tracking and quality reporting
  • Communicates with Supply Chain Procurement Agents II, Supply Chain Procurement Agents I, and facility inventory staff as necessary
  • Develops and maintains manufacturer master categories
  • Creates and updates charge description master (CDM) items and ensures appropriate revenue coding
  • Resolves simple to complex issues related to item master data records in a timely manner
 




Job Requirements

Experience Requirements:   
  • Minimum of two years of experience in data maintenance and development preferred
  • Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Experience in a supply chain shared services organization preferred
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or college required or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience required
Software Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
  • Proficiency in PeopleSoft preferred
  • Ability to type fifty or more words per minute with excellent spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral and written communications
