Job Description

TB Wood's, Inc., an Altra Industrial Motion Company, is hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer-Machine Shop for the Chambersburg, PA location.  This position is full-time.

Job summary:

The manufacturing engineer will design, measure, analyze, improve, set controls and standardize manufacturing processes in the value stream. These activities will be performed with the involvement of process owners and operators.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the manufacturing processes within assigned area. This includes CNC and manual machining of metal components and subsequent finishing operations.

Identify and quickly resolve problems through root cause problem solving.

Develop and document CNC programs, machine setup sheets, manufacturing standards and instructions. Verify these items are understood and sustainable.

Lead and/or actively participate in kaizen team activities

Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

Job Requirements

Skills

Excellent knowledge of manufacturing (machining and finishing) processes

Expert user of MS Office and CNC programming software like Mastercam.

Excellent math skills

Excellent communications skills

Excellent problem solving skills

Strong team leader

Fundamental understanding of lean principles

Qualifications

BS in Engineering

4-7 years’ experience working in a manufacturing operation; heavy metal machining preferred.

Demonstrated leadership skills resulting in measured improvement and sustainability.

Must be able to periodically work with the second and third shifts.
