Job Title:                  Product Engineer

Department:             Engineering

Reports To:             General Manager

FLSA Status:           Exempt



Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Support the development and implementation of the business strategy and ensure it is closely linked with the strategic priorities of the business.
  2. Manage and implement engineering change request.
  3. Interpret CAD prints, along with strong understanding of GD&T.
  4. Manage and maintain CAD storage structure
  5. Manage and maintain engineering and CAD files
  6. Provide 3D modeling and 2D cad drawings as required.
  7. Create and manage Guardian ENT standards
  8. Lead engineering team in application & product design for manufacturability.
  9. Develops conceptual designs to facilitate customer integration and application opportunities. Works with designers and customer’s technical personnel to facilitate sale of the product.
  10. Manage select customer accounts


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  


BS degree in accredited engineering, physical sciences program, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Individual must have a strong concentration in mechanical engineering and sales. Previous experience in lean manufacturing leadership is preferred, but not required.

Job Requirements


To be able to perform this position, previous experience in the following areas is preferred: power transmission products specifically with driveshafts, flexible shaft couplings and flywheel drive couplings, torsional vibration analysis, casting design, and product testing.  Additional requirements include strong analytical, communication and conflict resolution skills as well as the following

      • Self-motivation, drive, energy, and resilience.
      • Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.
      • Must excel at working in a team environment.
      • Effective and collaborative problem solving skills including defining the problem, collecting data, establishing a solution, creating a standard, and sustaining.
      • Ability to write reports and present information to groups of managers, employees, and customers.
      • Be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Outstanding group facilitation, training, communication and presentation skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills: positive, persuasive, motivating.
      • Demonstrated talent for building effective relationships with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling, preferably Solidworks and Auto-Cad.
