Reporting to the SEC Manager of Altra, the SEC and Technical Accounting Analyst will be a key member of the corporate finance department that is responsible for external financial reporting, quarterly debt compliance reporting, supporting the external auditors, and ad hoc financial analysis. The role will work closely with key members of the global finance team and Altra’s business unit leaders.  We are looking for a strong individual who can think critically, analyze data and manage large information requests.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in providing guidance and oversight of the external auditors and annual audit process.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with USGAAP and SEC requirements including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Form 4s and Proxy filings
  • Assist in XBRL tagging
  • Assist in the preparation of financial press releases
  • Research and prepare technical accounting white papers
  • Prepare quarterly debt compliance certificates and weekly treasury reports
  • Assist in implementation of the Company’s future stock compensation software
  • Ensure the Company’s continued compliance with US census financial data requests
  • Assist with consolidation activities on a monthly basis
  • Assist in reviewing statutory audits and financial reconciliations
  • Perform periodic site visits to business units to ensure compliance with Company accounting and reporting policies and procedures
  • Review quarterly business unit flux packages
  • Perform financial and accounting projects for the executive management team as necessary, such as financial software implementation and acquisition due diligence assistance

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a corporate finance environment and/or public accounting, SEC experience and CPA a plus
  • Analytical, writing and project management skills.  Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience with Hyperion Enterprise and consolidation software a plus
  • Competency in Excel and other Microsoft applications
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced team environment
  • Experience working with Active Disclosure and Active Link a plus
