Building Maintenance – Facility Team Member



As Facility Team Member for our schools, residential programs and offices, you'll be able to combine your superior facility maintenance skills with your compassion for teens rescued from abuse and neglect. As a vital member of our dedicated team, your efforts in troubleshooting, conducting preventive maintenance, and performing routine repairs will ultimately impact the lives of the 200 students and foster kids in our care, and our professional staff that serves them. Must be able to work Tuesday - Saturday.
  
Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
  • Makes repairs and renovations within all Maryland facilities on ceilings, walls, floors, windows, furniture and doors
  • Performs general carpentry services, installs/builds shelves, cabinets and assembles / repairs desks, chairs and other furniture. Has experience in hand and power tool use
  • Provides dry wall repair, patching, sanding, adn painting experience
  • Provides routine maintenance and upkeep of HVAC systems as well as company vehicles
  • Applies basic electrical skills in changing light switches, outlets, sockets, and ballasts
  • Ensures efficient lighting of the facility through planned bulb and ballast replacement and repair/replacement of inoperable lighting systems
  • Responsible for troubleshooting electrical wiring problems and making necessary repairs
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains domestic and commercial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Working knowledge of national codes and best practicesl attends trainings and meetings as required
  • Responds to Facilities Help Desk ticket repair orders as instructed
  • Maintains grounds by mowing lawn, trimming weeds and other lawn maintenance as required
  • May assist with building cleaning, trash disposal, office relocations, and event set-up
  • Responsible for snow removable that may require evenings/weekends to ensure the safety our staff, clients, and visitors
  • Must be available to work weekends

Education, Licensure and / or Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED and at least two (2) years relevant experience in required skill sets.

  
Other Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proof of current Auto Registration, Inspection and Insurance
  • Driving Record (three years) from the state in which the driver's license is valid
  • Must submit to and pass health screening and TB clearances
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must submit to and pass random drug tests during employment
  • Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
