Job Description

Behavioral Health Network is looking for Recovery Specialists for The Northern Hope Center located in Greenfield MA. The Northern Hope Center is a 32-bed Post ATS Step Down program. Our program provides up to 30 days of post detoxification and/or stabilization services for men and woman, ages 18 and older, with a primary addiction disorder. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Social Workers, Recovery Specialists, Psychiatric Consultation, and an onsite Nurse providing a full range of treatment. A Recovery Specialists must be able to:

  • Provide direct services that supports growth, promotes independence, and ensures safety of consumers in all settings.
  • Oversee client activities to ensure compliance with program activities and policies.
  • Provide guidance and direct counseling as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
  • Facilitate diverse client groups as needed.
  • Use insured and registered personal vehicle for client transportation purposes as needed.
  • Acts as a role model.
  • Provide indirect services that documents and supports the provision of direct services to individuals served.
  • Use the staff log as a means of conveying written client/program information needed by other staff to perform his/her duties in the best interests of the clients.
  • Complete program specific forms and required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Complete client progress/group notes in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services, and mandatory trainings.
  • Complete individually assigned program specific duties and/or responsibilities i.e. house laundry, room checks, and other overnight responsibilities as assigned (if applicable).
  • Recognize and reports program specific safety and maintenance concerns.
  • Telephone supervisor for guidance and/or in emergency situations.

Job Requirements

Job Knowledge: 
• Individuals must be committed to client empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration.
• Must be in successful recovery for two or more years.

Experience and Training: 
• LADC II or LADC III (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Assistants) or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience working with substance abuse population.

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

• Valid Driver’s License.
