Moen has a new opening for our Manager Materials & Production Planning/Scheduling to join our New Bern North Carolina Manufacturing Team. As part a direct report to our Plant Manager, our Manager Materials & Production Planning/Scheduling manages supply chain functions for the New Bern facility from both the tactical and strategic perspectives. The scope includes operations planning, capacity planning, production scheduling, warehouse and inventory management, and the movement of material to and from the production floor.
Partner with the corporate Supply Chain Management team (forecasting, master scheduling and material planning) to integrate plant operations planning into the corporate SIOP process. SIOP integration is to be used to manage plant capacity and material imbalances in the supply chain to ensure customer requirements, new product launches and inventory investment is achieved.
Acts as the intermediary between New Bern manufacturing and corporate Master Scheduling & Forecasting to set capacity levels and determine service performance.
Owns the capacity plan and utilizes the capacity alert process to ensure the necessary capacity levers are triggered through the manufacturing and engineering teams.
Monitor, improve and standardize the planning and scheduling processes to provide achievable production schedules that meet demand requirements through the utilization of planning data and manufacturing capacities.
Communicates impediments inside the scheduling window and works with functional owners on gap closure.
Warehouse and Inventory Management:
Responsible for the design and execution of component and finished goods material flow including master data, material storage, movement signals, accurate transacting, and standard processes that enable the achievement of plant performance metrics.
Achieve a minimum level of 95% warehouse inventory accuracy.
Monitor warehouse capacity against inventory plans and production needs in order to adjust material flow design and/or lead investment decisions.
Ensure EH&S best practices are followed in the department with the highest level of priority at all times.
Develop strategic plans for the growth and development of the operation that are aligned with the overall strategic plans for Moen and the New Bern plant.
Provide effective associate relations within the team by ensuring practices are fair, consistent and follow the Moen Operating Philosophy.
Enhance organization effectiveness through team development and problem solving.
Drive improvements to reduce costs year on year.
Participate in the design, development, selection and implementation of integrated information systems within the manufacturing and supply chain functions.
Metrics include, but are not limited to: Safety, Inventory Accuracy, Inventory Adjustment $, Schedule Attainment, Material Delivery and Put Away, and Department Spending Other duties assigned as necessary.

Bachelor's degree B.A. in Business, B.S. in Engineering, or related field from four-year College or university; MBA preferred. Minimum ten years experience in a progressive manufacturing environment including five (5) years of supply chain or materials management related experience in supervisory or management roles. Materials control (shipping, receiving and inventory) experience in a high material count, discrete build environment is preferred.
Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP is required; SAP experience preferred
Lean material glow design experience
Experience with Visual Factory tools preferably a MES (Manufacturing Execution System) application
Ability to provide leadership, direction and focus
Group facilitation and presentation skills
Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
Demonstrated success handling multiple priorities and multi-tasking
High degree of credibility
Ability to read and understand material forecasting documentation including release schedules.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as they relate to the management of inventories and release schedules.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be skilled in the use of Outlook and e-mail; MS Word, Excel; ERP with SAP experience preferred.

This position has 5 - 7 direct reports with approximately 100 hourly and salaried associates. The position is also responsible for performance of a third party managed component warehouse.
