Project Director - Development and Analytical Operations

A well-established, and expanding global CRO/CMO who provides large molecule early stage development services for clients has a need to hire a Project Director (direct laboratory supervision) to supervise an expanding group of 5+ direct reports) involved with the development/validation of analytical methods to characterize small molecules (mostly small, but are getting some large molecule work as well).  In additional this department does provide support to early formulation development activities.    

This role will be expected to manage both analytical and formulation development scientists, interact with their Business Development representatives, and have direct client contact.  This newly created role due to their expansion will review and author reports, manage staff utilization to ensure both quality and profitability targets are met, discuss technical results with external clients, train staff, and participate in laboratory testing/investigations as needed to ensure client needs are met.

This site has grown over 20% in headcount in just the past year and is continuing to expand.

Job Requirements

Ph.D. and 10-15+ years of pharmaceutical industry related experience (MS level may be considered with additional years of experience).  MS level may be considered with significant leadership experience

Demonstrated expertise in small molecule analytical MD/MV and  GMP testing (stability, etc.). Some knowledge of  LC/MS characterization is a plus, but not required.

Previous supervisory experience (managing at least the day to day activities of  2-3 people previously).

GMP experience preferred.

Previous direct experience working in a fee-for-service (CMO/CRO) environment a must-have.
