Job Description

Looking for an exciting Project Engineering role in the Raleigh area?  Interested in growing with a company that is expanding ?  Would you like to be involved with a new plant and headquarters makeover?  Seeking a strong Project Engineer to make it happen!

Our client is  looking for an accountable project engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions

  1. Manufacturing Engineering
    1. Equipment Development

                                          i.    Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements

                                         ii.    Apply working knowledge of product design and packaging to the manufacturing process

                                         iii.    Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as performance quotas

                                        iv.    Design and develop new equipment and technology solutions alongside/in support of the R&D team

                                         v.    Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaborating and cohesion

                                        vi.    Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems

                                       vii.    Develop standardized design criteria across all product lines

  1. Continuous Improvement

                                          i.    Evaluate process workflow for work content and identify efficient work sequence

                                         ii.    Analyze and identify bottleneck processes and develop higher efficiency solutions

                                         iii.    Define, document and train associates on improved work flow processes (SOP’s)

Job Requirements

The Project Manufacturing Engineer should have the following :
  1. Required Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required
    2. PMP certification is preferred, but not mandatory
    3. Certified proficiency with SolidWorks is preferred but not mandatory
    1. Required Skills
    1. 4+ years’ related field and project planning experience
    2. 4+ years’ design and quality control experience in product manufacturing
    3. Excellent project management skills desired
    4. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
    5. Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
    6. History of progressive responsibility a plus
    7. Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs
    8. Proficiency with AutoCad and SolidWorks programs is mandatory
    9. Working knowledge of statistical process control is a plus
    10. Experience in dealing with international equipment/service providers is a must
    11. Ability to travel internationally is a plus
