Herzing's Birmingham campus is looking for at least two new Adjunct Faculty members who can teach Nursing classes in a clinical setting. WHO should apply? Our programs are designed to prepare students pursuing an Associate's degree in Nursing for a career in Heathcare. Your job as an Adjunct Faculty member will be to translate your background and experience into pragmatic information which will prepare your students to be successful as they begin their new careers.  
To apply for this position, you must have:
  • A Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (or higher)
  • An unencumbered Nursing License from the Alabama Board of Nursing
  • A current CPR card and/or advanced cardiac life support certification
  • Recent TB skin test
Clinical SCHEDULE The specific days and times are determined by the clinical site, student availability, and faculty input. For these reasons, the specific shift days/times are unknown at this time, and will vary from term to term.  Generally your commitment as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member will be once a week for an eight week term, but depending on the clinical site and the number of students enrolled you may be asked to teach up to three times a week from time to time. WHAT will you be doing? If selected for this position you will be a part-time member of Herzing's faculty, and be responsible for everything that entails - teaching students... To better understand what that means, you should know that an Adjunct Faculty member's primary responsibility is one of duality. Fundamentally, this position will be responsible for the engagement, inspiration, and guidance to students within the courses taught, and provide solid—student centered feedback that assists students in achieving their highest academic potential - and ultimately be successful after graduation. You will be expected to follow the prescribed curriculum, but feedback, input, and creativity is encouraged! Students will be assessed based on a variety of methods, depending on the class. These can include projects, exams, essays, case studies, group exercises, etc. A full job description will be provided during the interview process when you can discuss what this specific role will entail, but a faculty member’s responsibilities fall into eight basic areas.
