Application Engineer
Allison Transmission

LIST KEY ELEMENTS OF POSITION
1. Facilitate global OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers} and government inquiries, Application Engineering support and training for wheeled and tracked vehicle applications
2. Using engineering tools and tech data, review and evaluate acceptability of transmission in OEM vehicle applications
3. Perform transmission installation reviews at OEM facilities
4. Provide Application Engineering support to program teams and technical reviews
5. Coordinate engine integration design activities
6. Identify key Application Engineering deadlines
7. Survey global Application Engineering regarding product needs or expectations
8. Prepare specifications for new products
9. Provide field support for cross drive transmissions
10. Support logistics analysis for cross drive products in the way of manuals, packaging and provisioning
11. Troubleshoot cross drive transmission field problems

Job Requirements


LIST CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
1. BS degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Minimum of 5 years’ experience required

2. Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
3. Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
4. Ability to communicate technical issues to varied audiences.
5. Targets and achieves results, sets challenging goals, prioritizes tasks, provides leadership/motivation.
6. Mechanical aptitude or background knowledge of automatic transmissions and diesel engines.
7. Travel up to 25% required.
8. High level of organizational skills.
9. Willingness to take on additional workload.
10. Drive for efficiency and improvement.
Preferred:
1. Experience with drive train and drive line evaluation and analysis.
2. Thorough knowledge of transmission components or comparable products.
3. Understanding of vehicle dynamics.
