1. Lead the design, documentation, programming, and installation of EPICS/PLC based control systems
2. Interface with operations and commissioning teams to provide prompt support
3. Collaborate with EPICS/PLC community to keep FRIB control system up to date
4. Manage the preventive maintenance, repair and parts management for assigned equipment, keeping records of maintenance tasks and results
5. Determine ways to optimize logic or systems without making overly complex
6. Foresee any potential problem areas and notify line manager
7. Continually strive to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and uniformity

Job Requirements


Required
1. Bachelors degree in Engineering or Physics; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Desired
1. Experience in controls design, including safety, PLC installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
2. Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, GuardLogix, Compact GuardLogix, board level troubleshooting, and AutoCad
3. Experience with the EPICS controls system
4. Excellent communication and documentation skills
5. Experience in large-scale controls systems development and techniques
6. Good understanding of distributed control system software and hardware
