HRU is seeking qualified TEST TECHNICIANS for a Wisconsin based defense contractor. There are multiple openings in AZ, MD and AK.

The primary function of this position includes testing, developing, and supporting new and existing military products. Technicians are required to support instrumentation personnel and test engineers in component level and full vehicle testing to provide proof of concept and design validation.

12-18 month contract position, possible extension, benefits available

Must be able to obtain a security clearance which requires US Citizenship & Background check


Operate and maintain equipment and perform other general mechanical duties, such as complete component changes, modifications, tear-downs, and reassembly.
Test and develop new vehicles and/or components, conduct safety and road ability inspections. Perform tests of systems and components to assure proper operation.
Conceive and fabricate test fixtures, including establishing appropriate instrumentation and test sequence and procedures.
Perform tests to determine capabilities of vehicles/systems and conformance to specifications and/or regulations.
Record test data utilizing both manual entry and data acquisition
Investigate and trouble-shoot problems and participate in formulation of corrective action.
Troubleshoot systems, perform basic failure analysis, and follow detailed test procedures.
Draw basic sketches as relates to redesigned hardware

Travel required, up to 50% frequency and one month in duration; per-diem provided for travel

Job Requirements


Associate's degree in auto/truck mechanics or equivalent work experience
3-plus years related experience in truck/auto mechanics with emphasis on electronics, print reading, and welding
Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance (requires US Citizenship & background screen)


Diesel and/or heavy equipment experience
Test/Research & Development experience
Proficiency in fabrication skills such as welding, use of machine shop equipment, etc. is highly desirable
Familiarity with test equipment such as strain recording devices, weighing devices, hydraulic test devices such as flow meters and pressure gauges, and data acquisition devices (EDAQ, SOMAT, VBox)
Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic aids such as CAT ET, Cummins Insite, etc
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is highly desirable
ASE Certifications
Equipment operator experience
Ability to identify and lead continuous improvement projects/events
Ability to attain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
