Description: Senior Business Analyst

Position Summary

This position will work closely with the Project Manager and VP of Product Development & Support to take product initiation and existing product enhancements and overseeing the execution of delivery at a functional level. This team will be responsible for leading the development of business and functional requirements for IT Systems and products, supporting the implementation of changes and creating related business and process documentation.

Essential Job Functions

 Perform business analysis for business and functional applications, including analyzing and documenting business processes and translating business objectives into business requirements.

 Consult with internal and external customers to identify, analyze, refine and document business and functional requirements.

 Collaborate with the development team to work through technical requirements and business rules in JAD, grooming, planning and other sessions.

 Own project timelines.

 Identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches; ensures the technical solution meets the business objectives.

 Lead and mentor other business analysts as needed or required.

 Review and provide feedback on business analyst output to ensure consistent practices are used by all business analysts.

 Define, improve, and maintain documents used by business analyst team members. Perform business impact analysis and develop a risk mitigation strategy for system / process changes.

 Identify requirements for testing, collaborate with quality assurance analyst to develop test plans test cases.

 Develop and maintain User Acceptance Testing criteria.

 Collaborate with Quality Assurance Analyst for execution of test cases as necessary.

 Participate in major projects; lead a variety of project team activities.

 Review operational procedures and methods, map current business processes, define and analyze business activities, identify best practices, and recommend improvements. Ensure proper documentation is maintained by team members.

 Support defect analysis and resolution.

 Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products (e.g. Excel, Visio, Project, etc.)

 Understanding of project management methodologies

 Understanding of the various software development lifecycle methodologies

 Lean Startup Framework

 Service – Oriented Architecture

Job Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business, information systems or related field.

 Minimum of 5+ years prior experience in related field or area, preferred.

 Fundamental understanding of project management methodology.

 Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) preferred.

 Project management experience preferred.
