Job Description

L.S.S.I has an immediate opening for a bilingual Spanish/English Child Welfare Specialist in the Intact Family Recovery Program. This is a DCFS-funded grant program that provides intensive case management to families who have given birth to a substance–exposed infant. Families remain in the program a minimum of 18 months. The child welfare specialist works, in partnership with a substance abuse counselor, to ensure that mothers and/or fathers complete all recommended treatment, while maintaining safety for the children, and keeping the family intact. 

Job Requirements

Candidates must have at least a Bachelors Degree in Social Work, or a related field. Two years previous child welfare experience is preferred. EOE.  Visits take place in the family home, and access to a car is required, as is passing DCFS background clearances. EOE.
