Job Description

Foster Parent and Staff Development Specialist, works in collaboration with statewide Foster Parent/Staff Development Manager to develop agency-wide development plan for staff/foster parents. Conducts and coordinates orientation and ongoing development activities (training) for staff and foster parents. Writes training curricula and devlelops materials for new training topics as needed. Ensures program compliance with training requirments based on COA standards, contractual requirements and LSSI'S mission and goals. This position will service the Northern Region: Aurora, Rockford, and Nachusa. Spanish Speaking a plus.

Job Requirements

State licensing/certification as required by State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS.  Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing. Comfortable speaking in front of groups of people.  Valid Illinois driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance required. Access to transportation to transport clients as needed.  Bachelor's degree in social work or related human services required, master's degree preferred; 3 years of experience in social services.
