You put tools and equipment in the hands of mechanics and technicians so they can do their work more quickly and reliably. By selling customers the tools and equipment they need, you build your own business and write your own paycheck. Opportunity Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly outside sales visits to customers during normal business hours

  • Meet with mechanics, technicians, and managers within the automotive-truck, marine and aviation industries

  • Use company provided potential prospect list

  • Determine and fulfill your customers’ tool and equipment needs efficiently and reliably

  • Offer a wide assortment of products available in your mobile store inventory and in the catalog

  • Explain the easy purchase, reverse layaway multi-payment plan and finalize the sale

  • Secure first payment, documenting remaining payments and balance cash drawer

  • Place new sales orders, manage inventory, and analyze sales reports using your onboard laptop computer

  • Prepare your Matco mobile store with appropriate tools and equipment inventory for sales stops

  • Work closely with Matco's dedicated District Business Manager and Customer Service to help you get the support you need to service your customers

Job Requirements

Our Franchised Distributors come from a variety of different backgrounds.  Success does not hinge on a precise work history.  We have determined that some factors may enable you to jumpstart your success as a new Distributor: 



  • No computer skills are required but are helpful--our system is a simple “point-and- click"

  • Basic math ability, addition and subtraction is required; strong time- and cash- management skills are a plus 

  • Management, outside sales, automotive (mechanic or technician) work experience, or military service may be helpful but is not required

  • Strong verbal communication and people skills, being friendly and listening well; bilingual English-Spanish skills are a plus

  • Flexibility - willing to follow a proven New Franchise Business Owner Success model

  • Be self-motivated, posses a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to succeed

  • A valid driver’s license and ability to drive a larger non-commercial vehicle
