Machining Engineer

Job Responsibilities

As a Machining Engineer, you will perform a variety of technical tasks to support the department. The primary responsibility of a Machining Engineer is to support, develop and implement engineering processes related to a production CNC machining environment. Works closely with all related departments to support company objectives within a team based hands on environment.

Your specific duties in this Machining Engineer role may include:
  • Supports, develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods for machining operations.
  • Tests and evaluates equipment, instruments and components to eliminate failures to increase productivity and quality.
  • Analyzes and designs workflow, work force utilization, space requirements, and layout of equipment for maximum efficiency.
  • Develops and maintains NC cutting programs associated with the machining processes.
  • Select, analyze and source all cutting tools required for manufacturing.
  • Participates in cost reduction activities.
  • Works closely with members of Manufacturing and quality to support company targets for COST, QUALITY, and DELIVERY.
  • Works closely with Purchasing in the selection and development of raw material suppliers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Shift Hours: Day Shift

Pay Rate: $70K

Location: Crothersville, IN

Job Requirements

We are looking for self-motivated Machining Engineer who exhibit a strong work ethic and who are willing to go above and beyond in order to fulfill a wide range of duties. You should be a highly organized and detail-orientated team player, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.

Additional qualifications for the Machining Engineer role include:
  • An Associate degree in an engineering field is required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience. Prior CNC equipment experience preferred
  • Good Hands on abilities (help, assist and perform).
  • Communication skills - both verbal and written - to internal and external contacts.
  • Read and understand Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing included on blueprints and schematics.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills (document control).
  • Experience with Cadd software (i.e. AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks)
  • Experience with 3D modeling is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Machine G&M code programming.
  • General shop fabrication skills
  • Be willing to work a flexible work schedule
