Job Requirements
The Buyer is an exempt position in the Purchasing Department. This position reports to the Vice President of Purchasing. The following are additional requirements specific to the position:Education Requirements-Requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience, and 3-4 years of related wholesale food buying experience.Physical Requirements/Working Environment and Conditions-Ability to maintain a moderate level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time as required by preparing and analyzing data, figures, computer terminals, etc.-Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computer software, hardware and equipment.-Ability to perform the following physical activities: fine manipulating with hands, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.-The majority of the work occurs within an internal office environment.-Occasional work will occur in a setting where temperatures may vary.-Work is classified as sedentary with the requirements of exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
