Job Description


Support Maintenance Equipment Technicians in performing preventive maintenance (PM) on fab vacuum systems to include, rebuilding and cleaning of vacuum parts, Quartzware inventory and cleaning, and specialty gas inventory.


• Remove aluminum from shields (used in metal sputtering equipment) using a chemical etching process.  Clean parts from Plasma Etch equipment.
• Responsible for inventory control and ordering of specialty gases for all fab equipment.
• Disassemble, reassemble, and clean Ion Implanter source assemblies.
• Responsible for inventory control and cleaning of Diffusion Quartzware.
• Perform Vacuum Pump maintenance to include checking oil levels and replacing vacuum oil following PM schedules.
• Inspect and maintain Vacuum Wands.
• Perform PM on Semitool strip tools; fill and replace acids and/or solvents.
• Responsible for documentation control of all Preventive Maintenance Procedures and other documents applicable to the department as directed by the Equipment Maintenance Manager.
• Member of an emergency response team.
• Support company initiatives, such as; quality, safety and environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield management, and cost containment.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements


• Knowledge of pneumatics, vacuum, acids/solvents, and clean room procedures.
• Strong mechanical ability.
• Skilled in preventive maintenance.
• Typically requires at least one year Vo-tech mechanical training.
• Knowledge of VAX system (MANMAN) and personal computer network (Microsoft Windows NT, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange) software usage.
• Knowledge of inventory control procedures.

• Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., daily, for short periods, work in a clean room environment, utilize tools that require turning, twisting and manipulating, and wear clean room attire (bunny suit, booties, gloves, mask and protective eyewear).


• Corporate orientation, Department orientation, Ladder Safety Training, annual Right-to-Know, annual EMS and annual Hazardous Waste Management.
• Job specific OJT as directed by the Lead Maintenance Technician and the Equipment Maintenance Manager.
• Emergency response team.
