Job Description

Department Description 

The Global Collateral Management Group supports the Global Collateral Database as a single source of visibility to firm and customer collateral in order to improve Bank's day-to-day funding efficiency as well as provide automatic contingency financing and allow proper management of client margin and collateral risk. In this role the Global Collateral Management Group supports the consolidation of global collateral balances from numerous books and records, maintains actual and projected collateral balances to facilitate collateral mobility and consolidates global financing trades from numerous books, products and regions. The benefit of a consolidated global collateral balances allows reporting of collateral ownership how the collateral has been used (encumbered) or not (unencumbered) by legal custodian and product. Maintaining actual and projected real-time collateral balances facilitates the ability to move collateral. Providing the ability to make these movements supports the Firm’s contingency funding strategies as well as the daily financing projections for the Repo and Stock Loan desks. The collateral movements are done using straight-through processing with the settlement systems for the appropriate depository pledging. 

Brief Description 

There are various applications within the Global Collateral Management team to support the various business needs mentioned above. At the core of these applications is the Global Collateral Database. This repository houses the Firm’s collateral from all sources across numerous products, various entities and all regions. 
Sitting on top of this data repository is an extensive reporting application to has canned reports using MS Reporting Services as well as MS Office Components with .Net programming to provide some dynamic reporting abilities. The data is used to provide general Repo reporting, term reporting for Repos, Collateral Usage and Liquidity along with Margin. Users of the application have double year over year for the past 2 years in globally with now nearly 1000 users of the application. Maintenance of these reports is continuous and new reports are continually being added to expand the portfolio. The reporting is extremely critical in determining the daily funding business as well as it’s contingency funding requirement. 


Jr. Developer Role: 
Brief Description 
The individual will be responsible for application development, system testing and successful implementation of solutions to satisfy the needs of the businesses supported. The required solutions will be related to a full spectrum of requirements from changes due to support needs, minor enhancements and including major/significant development, all to satisfy the current and future needs of the business. 

Job Responsibilities 
• Interface with business partners for development requirements, when necessary. 
• Interface with other development areas and support organizations, when necessary. 
• Provide proper technical analysis to satisfy programming needs. 
• Work closely with management to define development estimates. 
• Create necessary programming logic to satisfy the business need/problem. 
• Deliver properly coded and tested solutions within agreed upon timeframes. 
• Regularly communicate status to management and business partners. 
• Provide technical documentation. 
• Participate in testing when appropriate. 
• Provide production support and troubleshooting as needed. 
• Support ad-hoc requests when appropriate. 

Qualifications 
• 5+ years in application development 
• 5+ years technical hands-on experience in the following: 
• Strong knowledge/expertise on RDBMS concepts and fundamentals 
• Good, in-depth and hands-on knowledge of SQL Server 2008/2012 
• Strong background in database schema design and development. 
• Extensive knowledge and experience in developing stored procedures, views & functions 
• Experience with C#.net with WCF knowledge. 
• Experience on VB.NET and batch commands 
• Experience with Python 
• Data sourcing experience from multiple databases 
• Strong performance tuning skills for complex queries, procedure and indexing strategies 
• Ability to perform Data analysis 
• Ability to write complex SQL needed to investigate data issues 
• Experience on file transmissions using FTP/SFTP/web services 
• Working experience on job scheduling using Autosys 
• Knowledge on Batch processing and event based scheduling 

• 2+ years experience in the Financial Industry – background with Collateral and Financing a plus. 
• Self-Starter with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, able to pursue aggressive goals 
• Good communication skills – team player. 
• Ability to collaborate with multiple organizations. 
• Strong problem solving and strategic thinking
