If we are going to talk in big words, we as a research institute take the basic research from the academic world and other places and develop it further so that it can be and is utilised in the society-at-large. In practice, this means that with our knowledge of basic research and the needs of industry, we can assist companies produce research and innovation in the various applications that will benefit both that particular company and society in general.
A research project can take the form of direct assignments with a customer. This means that you will have close contact with the customer, for example helping them solving problems, developing new products or improving existing ones, developing new methods and processes, as well as assisting them in their reaching out to new markets. And more! Naturally, we have assignments from both Swedish and international companies.
Another major part of our research work concerns more collaborative projects with partners from industry, the academic world, and other research institutes. This often occurs in an international context, such as within EU projects, however we also see domestic funders such as Vinnova, Formas and MISTRA announcing their funding of projects for the purpose of strengthening the innovative power in our country. You who are resourceful, proactive and creative will have more than ample opportunity to be able to steer and manage project applications and customer assignments within your desired area and to work with domestic and international partners. We conduct research on everything from alternatives to the use of antibiotics to tunnel fires to energy-smart homes to sustainable fashion. And more!
