We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing design team in our Dallas, TX office.

In this design role, you will represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact and effectively interact with the Internal Design team as well as external clients and consultants. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team. Electrical Engineer (Design Engineer)

Job Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of the Senior Engineer and/or Senior Designer for building types such as Federal, Healthcare, commercial, Mission Critical and Hospitality projects. You will also develop specifications, system narratives, and system layouts for a variety of projects of different sizes.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Beginning to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the Senior on the project
  • Participating in Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others
  • Assisting in the ongoing determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets
  • Performing construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects, including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports
  • Assisting in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda

Job Requirements:

Successful candidates for the Electrical Engineer role should have the ability to use REVIT for system layout and spatial coordination of production of detailed drawings. Someone who exhibits a basic understanding of the practical application of LEED principals to our building designs would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
  • Four (4) to Eight (8) years’ of experience working in a consulting firm
  • Current PE registration, highly preferred; E.I.T. accepted in lieu of P.E.
  • LEED AP, a plus
  • History of working with projects such as Federal, Healthcare, Commercial, Mission Critical and Hospitality
  • Knowledge of SKM Software and ability to perform Short Circuit coordination and Arch Flash Studies
  • REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience
  • Basic understanding of proper system selection
  • Thorough understanding of applicable codes
  • Proficient in design and calculation software
