Job Description


Vista College is currently hiring for a Nursing Instructor for our CNA program at our Las Cruces, NM campus.

Each teacher, administrator, and staff member is essential to providing excellent service and producing graduates the business community would be pleased to employ. The optimal CNA Instructor candidate will be responsible for teaching students general applicable business skills.  

SUMMARY:

The full-/part-time instructor is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities.  The instructor facilitates learning, creates a learning environment, and evaluates progression of learning for practical nursing students. The instructor must be able to relate well with students, faculty members, and administrators, maintain calm demeanor during difficult circumstances, and exhibit professionalism at all times.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The Nursing Instructor reports to the Dean of Nursing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Utilizing the training syllabus, equipment, and learning materials 

  • Teaching ADLs, anatomy, or physiology

  • Leading clinical rotations for students

  • Maintain compliance

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a registered or licensed practical nurse in the State of NM

  • Must have experience supervising certified nurse aides

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years nursing experience

  • Must have minimum of 1 year of long term care experience

  • Supervisory experience
