Job Description

West Coast University, a private university with the singular focus of educating health care professionals, is currently seeking a Student Success Advisor. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional to join a growing university as we expand our academic programs in health care and related fields.


Reporting to the Lead Advisor of Student Services and coordinating closely with all University department faculty and staff Will follow the student relations activities such as: student persistence, retention, satisfaction strategies, and graduation rates. Provides direct assistance to students and other academic departments to ensure quality in all student services functions. Regularly interfaces with the Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar staff and other applicable campus leadership to accomplish campus-wide retention goals.  Conducts on-going student satisfaction review, makes recommendations on areas for improvement and program changes; and maintains current knowledge in the field of student relations/student services.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent required.  
  • Current Driver’s License required. 
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nursing or Registered Nurse preferred, but not required.
  • One to two years previous experience in student services. 
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry or direct experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience and skill in interpersonal communications and conflict resolution techniques/procedures. 
  • Proficient command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and correct usage of the English language.Experience with MS Office. 
  • Knowledge of applicable databases and computer application systems to supply the most accurate information, reports and projections. 
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as Title IV, ABHES, BPPE, and other accreditation standards.
