Job Description

Summary Description: 

This position is responsible for providing engineering expertise to the mine site in an effort to achieve departmental and mine site objectives. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                                                                 

Operation of the Ebee survey drone for survey data collection.

Process survey drone information for all survey requirements including volume calculations, mine topography, reclamation surveys.

Complete any required GPS field surveys utilizing Trimble GPS equipment for construction, drilling programs.

Complete calculations of coal uncovered and mined coal recoveries utilizing a combination of AutoCAD, Excel, and MINEX mining software.

Complete weekly and monthly reconciliation reports for coal in place, coal hauled, and stockpile inventories.

Work with operations personnel to improve coal recoveries.

Good verbal and written communication skills

Good presentation skills

Assume other duties and/or responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstances and the economic and physical environment of the Mine or Company.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills;

Possess a degree in Engineering from an accredited university;

Have 1 to 3 years of related mining or construction experience;

Be proficient in Minex, Autocad, Excel and/or other related mine planning software.

Have the ability to learn quickly and maintain motivation even in the face of inevitable delays, setbacks, policy shifts and schedule changes.
